Music News: Kid Rock to launch American Badass Beer Company

Kid Rock is harnessing his hard-partying image by launching his own signature brew.
Dubbed American Badass Beer, the new beverage will premiere during the Detroit rocker’s upcoming hometown engagement at Comerica Park, a two-night stand set for July 17 and July 18. The shows are part of Rock’s in-progress tour behind his 2007 album, “Rock N Roll Jesus.”
Described in a press release as an “American style lager,” the soon-to-be-released beer initially will be available only at kiosks in Comcerica Park during Rock’s back-to-back shows, and will be “rolling out in Michigan in the coming weeks, followed by a number of Midwest market openings,” according to Drinks Americas Holdings, Ltd, the company doing the brewing.
Production of the drink will begin on the 4th of July, according to a press release.

Music News: Kevin Jonas proposes to girlfriend
Looks like Kevin Jonas will be swapping his chastity band for a wedding band. The 21-year-old JoBro is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Danielle Deleasa. Sigh. I’m sure I just ruined the days of so many girls whose hearts are breaking now that the oldest Jonas is off the market. But hey, there’s still two left.
Parents Denise and Kevin Jonas Sr. made it official releasing this statement: “Our hearts are filled with joy today and we are happy to share with you that our son Kevin has asked Danielle for her hand in marriage. Her answer was yes, and it is such a blessing that she will be joining our family. Kevin and Danielle have not yet set a date.”
Jonas proposed to Deleasa at her home Wednesday morning fresh off a performance in Vancouver. Jonas told People magazine, ”It was tough performing last night, knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world.” Aww.
The couple has been together since 2007.
Music News: Michael Jackson’s will revealed
Today Michael Jackson’s will was filed in a Los Angeles court that gave the entirety of his estate to the Jackson Family Trust. A big deal is being made that his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, was left completely out of the will. This should be no big surprise. Jackson paid her off to be out of his and their children’s lives. To me, and maybe it’s just me, but it’s a no-brainer.
I digress. The 7-year-old will, dated back to July 7, 2002, lists Jackson’s estate as being worth more than $500 million. The contents of the estate as listed by the court documents consist of “non-cash, non-liquid assets, including primarily an interest in a catalogue of music royalty rights which is currently being administered by Sony ATV, and the interests of various entities.” The debt of the King of Pop is still unclear, but it is apparent that he lived a luxurious and obsessive lifestyle that seemed to catch up with him.
Jackson’s lawyer, John Branca, and music executive/friend, John McClain, are co-executors of the will. Katherine Jackson is named as the beneficiary of the trust as well as the guardian of the three children. Diana Ross is named as the successor guardian to Jackson’s mother.
McClain and Branca released this statement regarding Jackson’s will: “The most important element of Michael’s will is his unwavering desire that his mother, Katherine, become the legal guardian for his three children. As we work to carry out Michael’s instructions to safeguard both the future of his children as well as the remarkable legacy he left us as an artist we ask that all matters involving his estate be handled with the dignity and the respect that Michael and his family deserve.”
Jackson’s father, Joe, was also noticeably left out of the will.
12 Jackson Fans Committed Suicide

Sorry for the random picture.. I’m kind of getting sick of pictures of Michael Jackson so I included a sexy picture of Amy Adams instead… Anyway.. it’s believed that 12 fans have now committed or attempted suicide since Jackson died on Thursday. This man was barely saved in time:
“He was in a terrible state and kept on saying: ‘It’s all the same to me. I’m going to kill myself. It’s the worst tragedy of my life and I don’t want to live any more. I don’t know why you saved my life, I want to be with him’.”
A report from Tunisia claims a girl took her life as well but that has yet to be verified.
Why would these people do this? If you are considering killing yourself because some guy who looks like an alien died please don’t.. It’s not worth it.. there are plenty of other crazy people out there you can hang out with.. just google it..
Also.. The pictured girl is Amy Adams.. I have no clue who she is.. I think she has been in only one movie or something.. the important thing is she is not having a concert in Indianapolis but does have a very nice upper body so if you have her number please send it to me..
Simon Cowell will get $144 Million

“Early Salary figures from Simon Cowell’s ‘American Idol’ contract negotiations are leaking out and they’re eye-popping.
Cowell, who reportedly made $36 million last year for judging the hit competition show, has been offered three or four times that amount — between $100 million and $144 million per year — by co-producers Fox and 19 Entertainment to stick with ‘Idol’ when his contract expires next May.
While $36 million may seem like a lot of money for five months worth of snarky comments and eye-rolls, it’s only a fraction of the estimated $900 million that ‘Idol’ rakes in a year.”
Really?! I thought I was rich with my $6 an hour job but I guess Simon Cowell always has to out do me.. screw him.. next time he’s in Indianapolis I’ll steel his car or bang his girlfriend.. I’m sure she won’t mind..
Britney Spears at Pool in LA

BRITNEY SPEARS and her agent/boyfriend took hung out by the pool this weekend outside her house in LA. She’s changed her hair from blond to brown and he went from brown to blond. What a pair they make.. Does anyone remember when she looked hot and wasn’t a whore?
Music News: Jackson’s will of fortune surfaces
.jpg)
One person who will not be an heir to Michael Jackson’s fortune: his father.
After a Will for Jackson surfaced, it significantly left out Joe Jackson, and left his estate to divide between mother Katherine Jackson and his three children: Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II.
Reports of the will, which was drafted in 2002, come a day after Joe and Katherine Jackson sought to gain control over the Jackson estate as well as the children. Court documents state that it was their belief their son died without a will.
The court gave temporary custody of the children to Jackson’s mother, but it has been reported that the mother to two of the children, Debbie Rowe, is seeking access back into their lives after Jackson paid her off to give him sole parental responsibility.
It is still unclear as to how much is left of the Jackson fortune. He reportedly died with more than a staggering $500 million in debt. The will is said to be filed in probate court by Thursday and further details are to be expected to follow.

Artist Interview: 1-on-1 with Kate Linné

I am sitting with a girl today that brings a whole new meaning to the word Indie rock. She matches an awesome sense of fashion with an a voice that will send chills down your spine. She has a certain look about her that sets her apart from most singer songwriters. Currently living in Nashville, Tennessee, she is slowly making her way to the top of the charts. I am proud to introduce to you Kate Linne.
Where are you originally from?
I grew up right outside of Louisville, Kentucky in Oldham Country, which was the ultimate ultra-vanilla white suburban experience. We were very sheltered; you can’t even buy beer inside county lines. It’s a nice town, but I spent the majority of my high school experience counting the days until I could get out of there and move someplace where something actually happens.
Do you like living in Nashville?
I love living here however, it’s a little bit of a double-edged sword when it comes to music. Everyone here is a musician, which is one of the best things about it, because it makes Nashville such a supportive and creative community. The flip side of that, though, is that it’s hard to find people who are simply fans. Nashville audiences always watch any performance with a critical eye; this is a bit disconcerting, but I think it ultimately makes you a better musician.
When did you first know that you wanted to be a performer?
When I was in kindergarten, there was a teacher named Mrs. Edwards who played the piano during all the school plays. I thought she was the hippest lady around, and I wanted to be like her. So, one day I came home, all serious and grown-up feeling, and was like, “Mom, I have made a decision about my life. I want to learn how to play the piano.” Of course, this only lasted for about 8 months, but it was a good start.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you go?
One of my best friends is a dedicated world traveler, and she has always told me that London is my ultimate dream city. I’ve never been there, but I would love to go.
Describe your genre in one word.

Music News: Long live the “King of Pop”
Michael Jackson has died today at age 50 of cardiac arrest. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call from his L.A. home. When they arrived at the scene, Jackson was not breathing and was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. at the UCLA Medical Center. He is survived by his three children, mother, father and all his brothers and sisters.
I’m not entirely sure how to begin to write about a man and entertainer like Michael Jackson, but I will do my absolute best. I don’t believe it is a time to write about the weirdness that is most closely associated with him in the past several years. Whether a Jackson fan or not he changed the face of music and dance as we know it today. Jackson started performing with The Jackson 5 at 6-years-old and went on to become the biggest pop superstar the world has ever known. He had a tumultuous family life as a child that only echoed his adult life. He was the punching bag to an endless amount of jokes ranging from the color of his skin to excessive plastic surgery to his questionable relationship with children. He was a person who was obsessed with youth, founding Neverland Ranch, a mecca for children and one of the most recognizable homes on the planet next to Graceland. Without Michael Jackson we wouldn’t appreciate the single-handed sequin glove, military-style jackets, the jheri curl(remember when his hair caught on fire?), and both the Moonwalk and Thriller dances.
Michael Jackson’s Thriller album is the second best selling U.S. album and spent 37 weeks at number one on the record charts. It reached gold and platinum within a month. He won a total of 13 Grammy Awards in his lifetime and had a career that spanned 13 number 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Unfortunately in his recent years, his personal life overshadowed his musical career. His life became a freak show and everyone was watching, speculating and scrutinizing his every move. Jackson’s career took a turn for the worst after his many court battles and he suffered from financial some serious financial woes. It seemed uncertain that he would ever be able to recover from career-altering blows. Ironically enough, Jackson had been rehearsing for a 50-concert tour beginning in London. Ticket sales for the concerts are said to have been through the roof, breaking several records.
No matter what you believe about Mr. Jackson, he was one of the most impactful, influential musical geniuses of all time. Countless artists would not exist in the music industry today if it weren’t for him. He is and always will be, the “King of Pop.”
I am posting several videos for your viewing pleasure. I would like to dedicate “Will You Be There,” to my former roommate, Brie.
It’s a thriller night.
With the sad news of Michael Jackson’s death, we have to pay homage to his accomplishments
. Jackson may have been in the middle of some weird news over the years, but he has been the “King of Pop” since he was a child. With the news of his death, Twitterers and bloggers (clearly) have had a hey day of tweets and posts. With the start of Farrah Fawcett dying from cancer and now Jackson dying from cardiac arrest. WOW!
But like I said we can’t turn our backs to the accomplishments of this artist. And while I sit and watch MTV as they show video after video of Jackson’s I am saddened by the news. Born in 1958 he was the seventh child of the Jackson Clan. Since he started performing he has sold out the world’s largest arenas and has sold some of the world’s best-selling albums like “Off the Wall,” “Thriller,” “Bad,” “Dangerous,” and “HIStory.”
Jackson has also donated and raised millions of dollars to many charities all over the world. He has also been inducted into the Rock-and-Roll hall of fame twice. To top he has been included in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the most successful entertainer of all time, multiple times.
He is survived by his three children. He was 50 years old.

Indianapolis Concert: The Fray & Jack’s Mannequin at The Lawn at White River State Park

Next Thursday, July 2nd, The Fray and Jack’s Mannequin will perform at the Lawn at White River State Park in Indianapolis.
The Fray exploded onto the scene with their debut album, “How to Save a Life,” which featured the smash hit singles “Over My Head (Cable Car)” and “How to Save a Life.” Their newest album, titled “The Fray,” was released earlier this year behind the leadoff single, “You Found Me.” I’ve seen them once before in concert, and they put on a great show, so make sure you don’t miss this one.
Jack’s Mannequin is another piano-pop band led by frontman Andrew McMahon. With songs such as “The Mixed Tape,” “Dark Blue,” “The Resolution,” “Spinning,” and more, they’re sure to be a very entertaining opening act. Unfortunately I’m going to be out of town, but this is going to be one of the Indianapolis concert highlights of the summer.
The show starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are on sale now.
Music News: Perez Hilton sues Peas’ manager
Black-eyed Perez Hilton is suing Black Eyed Peas manager Polo Molina after he allegedly assaulted the gossip blogger at an after party for the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto over the weekend.
Hilton claims that he was attacked by Molina and will.i.am. because of comments he posted on his Web site about the Peas’ new album and about band member Fergie. Shortly after the incident Perez twittered, “I was assaulted by Will.i.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.” Is it really necessary to twitter for someone else to call the police when he could have spent that time doing that very thing? I am a huge Perez fan, but seriously, I’m surprised he doesn’t get beat up more often.
Hilton is now suing Molina for battery and intentional inflection of emotional distress. He is seeking damages of over $25,000.

Music Mill Shuts Down Again
Breaking news for Indy concert fans…I just read that the recently resurrected Music Mill is shutting down again. Just two months after reopening under new owners, the Music Mill restaurant, bar and concert venue has closed its doors again. I’m bummed! This 700-person venue was one of my favorite spots to see a show - a place where you could get up close and personal with the artist. Apparently, the local owners posted a “no trespassing” sign on the Music Mill’s locked doors late last week, and rumor has it that the new owner has defaulted on the rental agreement. For now, Indy concert fans are going to have to stick to The Vogue, Birdy’s, and 8 Second Saloon as small indoor venue options.
