Abigail Washburn was at the Music Mill Wednesday night and I’d have to say the banjo as never really been a favorite instrument of mine, but maybe that’s cause not too many people play banjo. Well Abigail Washburn seemed so genuine and natural that the sound of a banjo must have been running through her veins since she was a wee little girl. Tons of people can play guitar and tons of people know what to expect, to an extent, when they see someone start to play it. When someone starts to play the banjo I feel it brings a little bit of good ol’ bluegrass excitement to the room, cause you don’t get to hear a banjo played every day. Its almost as exciting to hear an electric violin played live to “Devil Went Down To Georgia” I’d say that It was a good show, I mean that type of band isn’t meant to get an Indianapolis crowd dancing on their feet, but like I said I think they did a darn toot’n good job.
For those of you that fell in love with the sweet rhythms of those bluegrass beats you can check out more of Abigail Washburn and The Sparrow Quartet at http://www.abigailwashburn.com/index.html

I love the banjo but you can’t beat the cow bell
