Video Shoot Review: Love Sick Radio in Indianapolis

Camera crews and about 100 dedicated fans converged on Indianapolis Friday night to film the premiere video for Love Sick Radio. The band,
originally from Columbus Ohio, taped several segments interacting with the crowd and at the bar before taking the stage. The line-up for the night was two run throughs of their single, Boys Don’t Matter. One with the camera focused on them, and the other on the crowd, and then a free concert for their Indianapolis fans.

As usual, Love Sick Radio impressed. I first saw them in Put-N-Bay Ohio last year. They were playing a mid-day concert at a local restaurant where some buddies and I were grabbing lunch. To be honest, I had a hangover that could’ve killed a small child, and at first didn’t want to hear anything louder than a whisper, but after a little hair of the dog I thought, “These guys are really good.”

Their style is a mix of an edgy take on popular covers coupled with hard-hitting originals. I say this with caution, because trust me this is not your run of the mill college cover band. These guys have real talent. Justin, their lead singer can truly rock-out while consistently staying in the “pocket.” And I don?t know if it was good acoustics or the way that the drums were mic”d up, but the drums and drummer were amazing. I had an opportunity to speak with Josh (drummer) after the show. I want to first give him props for rock’n WilliamRast on stage; a Los Angles based Jean Company that had been a sponsor and supporter of
Indianapolis native Ed Carpenter, a driver for Vision Racing in the IZOD IndyCar Series.

He told me that, although a release date for the video hasn’t been officially set, the editing process would hopefully wrap in early February. He told me that the band plays every second Saturday at Peppers in Broad Ripple. Trust me Indianapolis; it’s worth a trip to the Rip to check these guys out.
