Chris Brown Pleads for Popularity

Chris Brown fans know that his career ultimately halted on a dime after the whole Rihanna ‘incident’ in 2009. Brown plead guilty to felony assulat and is now on probation for 5 years. His public image, though, has not improved, despite his (and his publicists’) best efforts to prove to the world that he’s a changed man.

The 20-year-old singing and dancing phenom’s career has suffered extensively, especially since many stations refused to play his music in the incident’s aftermath. One of the direct results was that Brown saw significant losses after the release of his most recent album Graffiti, in 2010- the first after his assualt on Rihanna. Brown is now resorting to desperate measures to get some attention. On an audio message released on Say Now, he pleads with fans to “bring me back”.

”Some radio stations aren’t playing my records,” he says. “They’re not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to. But it’s on the fans…It’s in your power to bring me back.”

Personally, I think Brown is doing his best to show that he’s trying to change. I think its time to move on past the fact that he made an EXTREMELY poor decision-not to make light of the situation, but aren’t celebrities kind of notorious for that?

Besides, there’s no denying it…the kid’s got talent.
