I’m officially back from Vegas & recovering from a fun-filled weekend at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Not only was it my first time covering the ACM Red (well orange) Carpet but it was my first trip to Vegas as well. On Friday night I hit up Fremont Street to catch a performance by Lady Antebellum. And boy was it packed! I knew that Lady A had a following but I was not expecting the massive crowd that filled the streets that night. Their popularity is really growing & they have reached a “Taylor Swift” level of fame. Fans went crazy for Lady A!
Sunday night was the big ACM Red Carpet event. And I have to admit, my nerves kicked in a little bit upon arrival. Fans were screaming, country stars were stepping out of limos, and the media were out in full force! My first interview of the night was with country newcomer Katie Armiger. She was so sweet & looking fabulous in a short hit pink dress. Throughout the night I scored interviews with Miranda Lambert, Darius Rucker, Danny Gokey, Little Big Town, Gloriana, Gretchen Wilson and so many more stars. I was so focused on my interviews that I actually missed Tim McGraw & Faith Hill walk right by me. And how do you miss country royalty?? But Faith looked beautiful as always. By the end of the red carpet, I was ready to take off my 5 inch heels & relax in the press room.
