Concert Review: Circa Survive at the Emerson Theater
When I write things here for Indyconcerts.com I like to put my journalist hat on a be objective about what I’m reporting. So I’ll try my best to be objective in this situation. Circa Survive played to a energetic room of a few hundred on Tuesday night. It was billed as “Circa Survive and Special Guests”, but those guests were anything but special. I don’t want to mock...

Much has been made about the pairing of Danger Mouse and Shins frontman James Mercer, the creativity each man brings to the table is clearly stated on the pairs self titled debut album. The collaboration kept much of their dealings under wraps but with the albums release the world can finally hear the genius of both men.

Concert Review: Norah Jones Shines at the Murat
Norah Jones’ talent has never been in question, and she proved why with an outstanding performance at the Murat Theatre on Saturday night. The audience was so diverse and her performance was so unique and eclectic, that even the pickiest ears were pleased with the sounds delivered.
Much of the concert was devoted to her most recent album “The Fall”, but she threw in a lot of different...
Indy Concert: Band of Horses
Mark down May 7 on your calendar, because Band of Horses is rolling into Indy opening up for Pearl Jam. On paper this seems like an odd pairing. In one corner you have Pearl Jam, a band that was at the forefront of the grunge movement. In the other corner you have Band of Horses, an established indie rock band that has taken on a more country rock sound as of late. Of course the one thing these bands...

Band of Horses Return May 18
I have been anticipating a new Band of Horses album ever since I listened to their most recent offering, “Cease to Begin”. Lucky me, I don’t have to wait much longer. The group has announced their third album, “Infinite Arms”, will reach the masses on May 18. One thing that is a bit puzzling is that the album, as of now, doesn’t have a label to be released on.
Famed indie label Sub Pop...

A Match Made in Folk Heaven
Joanna Newsom’s tour for her recently released triple album “Have One on Me” just got a lot more interesting. Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold will be opening for the talented folk star on six of her dates. March 31st in Bloomington at the Buskirk-Chumley Theatre just happens to be one of those six.
Pecknold’s talents, much like Newsom, are endless. Fronting what is quite...
