The search for Hard Rock’s next Ambassador of Rock continues this Thursday (4/22) at 10:00 p.m.
Last week, four aspiring local bands left it all on the hard wood floors of the Hard Rock Cafe for a chance to perform in London. Last week, fan favorites Alter Ego walked away the winners of the first night of the qualifying round. While they prepare for the finals on April 30, four more bands will get their shot at representing Indy as its Ambassador. Just like last time, the show is FREE. Here’s a look at this week’s bands:
No1Zero: For fans of perhaps Saliva, Godsmack, Breaking Benjamin, and Seether. They may be popular amongst national recording artists (opening for Saliva, Seether, and Hellyeah in the coming weeks), but will this be enough to win this battle?
Eyes on Fire: A little metal for the battle. With influences from Bullet For My Valentine (they even get to open for them later this month in Milwaukee), In Flames, and Killswitch Engage, this five-piece outfit looks to redefine the meaning of “hard rock,” but will it be enough to win over the judges?
Thorn 4 Memory: Influenced by the likes of Godsmack, Three Days Grace, and Three Doors Down, this Greensburg quartet has built up quiet an impressive resume (four self-produced albums, over 120 shows including an appearance at Cleveland’s House of Blues, and being voted Indiana’s best original band by garageband.com) over the past six years. Can their experience give them the edge they need?
Altered Roots: For fans of Creed, Soundgarden, or Black Label Society. Already a favorite by X103 (featured on the station before, opening for the Don Stuck Band), this definitely doesn’t hurt their chances. Will it help them make it to next week?
Overall it looks like Hard Rock is about to get a little heavier. Who will win? Find out this Thursday.
