Band Tour and Ticket: Creed is back, and they’re coming to Indianapolis

Like Marissa had said earlier this week Creed is back after a five-year hiatus, Creed has announced the reunion of the band’s four original members for a summer run of the US, as well as plans for a new studio album. They will have a concert in Indianapolis for all you Creed fans. It will be a Verizon Wireless Music Center on August 29th. Presale tickets go on sale next Tuesday 5/5/09 at 10:00am, so make sure you are ready for that. You can pick them up at LiveNation.com.

The Florida rockers– vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall–will return to the road beginning Aug. 6 in Pittsburgh, heading along the East Coast and into the Midwest through September. The 41-city trek wraps up Oct. 14 in Nashville.

In a press release, frontman Stapp said, “It’s amazing how life can change and bring you full circle. Time gave us all a chance to reflect, grow and gain a deeper appreciation of our friendships, artistic chemistry, passion for music, and sincere love for our fans. It’s rare in life to get a second chance to make a first impression and we embrace the opportunity. We all believe the best is yet to come!”

“Our career as Creed came to an abrupt and unforeseen ending,” drummer Scott Phillips stated. “After reflecting on some of the greatest personal and professional moments of our lives, we’ve come to realize that we are still very capable of continuing that career and our friendship on a grander scale than ever before.”

The multi-platinum rock outfit hit the big-time with its 1997 debut, “My Own Prison,” which spawned four Top 5 singles on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and sold more than six million copies. Their second and third studio efforts–1999′s “Human Clay” and 2001′s “Weathered”–continued the band’s mainstream radio reign, with the single “With Arms Wide Open” scaling the Billboard Hot 100 and winning a Grammy Award in 2000 for Best Rock Song. The group’s most recent release, 2004′s “Greatest Hits,” hit shelves shortly after the quartet announced its break-up. During their time apart, Stapp focused on a solo career, releasing “The Great Divide” in 2005, while the remaining three members–Tremonti, Phillips and Marshall–formed alt-metal act Alter Bridge with fellow musician Myles Kennedy. No word yet on when the reunited rock band will be entering the studio or when the new record might surface.

  1. Thanks for posting this! With so much bad news being posted it’s good to see some positivity!!!! Everyone wants to hate. yeah, I’d like to see them go triple DIAMOND, sell 35 millions records, right? exactly.

This is the BEST news I’ve ever heard…in my entire life. The one band that actually improved people’s lives by giving them a second Christ to look up to and give true hope that life can be worth living! Scott Stapp will be remembered as the songwriter of our generation, not to mention easily the best SHOW of our Millenia! Even his National Anthem soars skyscraper-height over Aretha’s inaugural rendition! I love Aretha, who doesn’t, but Scott dominates… and we should bestow upon him the honor and rock-god glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

    Officially,
    Wicked Celtics

Creed is a band Tallahassee, Florida that became one of the 90’s biggest-selling rock bands. Creed disbanded in 2004 after three multi-platinum albums, selling an estimated 35 million records worldwide. The four original members, Scott, Mark, Tom, and Ryan reunited in 2009 and created a new album called Full Circle. In April 2010 they began The 20-10 Tour to perform their new album. InSeats.com has great deals on Creed tickets for all of the stops on their current tour.
