It’s time to party! Chemical Envy, an Indianapolis-based pop-like band, is hosting a CD release party at The Melody Inn on June 10th. Chemical Envy is a mix of simple, yet entertaining riffs with some interesting vocals. Most of the time I was listening to Chemical Envy, I felt like the vocals seemed like drunken melodies composed in some Podunk bar while sipping on a fifth of Jack. But somehow the vocals fit in. The melodies flowing from the guitars and the vocals somehow mix in such a way that it’s entrancing. The crudeness of the vocals is part of what makes Chemical Envy great to listen while you’re sitting out by the pool, by the roaring bonfire, or simply just chillin’ like a villain. Go check out their MySpace and give them a listen. If you like what you hear, go on down to The Melody Inn on June 10th and show your support. Releasing a CD is a big step in any bands progress. They could use all the support they can get… and it’s gonna be some awesome music.
For those who don’t know, The Melody Inn is a nice little bar with a long history. It’s been in Indy since 1935 and features a great original feel to it. The Melody Inn is one of the coolest places to hang for good rock, punk, and indie music. Check out their website or my future posts for a list of their shows.
