INDIANAPOLIS – They are three of the country’s top country artists, and they’re coming to the 2010 Indiana State Fair. Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban and Sugarland will all take the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand stage over the course of the 17-day fair, August 6 – 22, as will popular comedic ventriloquist Jeff Dunham and his cast of characters.
Rascal Flatts has had a decade-long run of incredible success and is annually recognized as the Academy of Country Music’s Top Vocal Group. The Ohio trio of Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney started their roll in 2000 with “Prayin’ for Daylight” and they haven’t stopped. Crossover hits like “Bless the Broken Road” and “What Hurts the Most” have endeared them to the masses, not just country music fans. They will perform with special guest Kellie Pickler Saturday, Aug. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this show are $48, $68 and $84 and include State Fair admission. Track seating for this event will be standing room only.
Urban is another country superstar with wide-ranging appeal. Fresh off of being named the People’s Choice Awards Top Male Artist, the New Zealand native has had 10 number one singles, including “Sweet Thing,” “But for the Grace of God” and “You’ll Think of Me.” Known for his incredible guitar playing, he surprised the crowd at the 2009 Indiana State Fair by climbing the Grandstand fencing and playing in the middle of the massive audience. He will play Saturday, Aug. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $40, $50 and $67 and include State Fair admission.
Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, better known as Sugarland, broke onto the national scene five years ago and their star continues to rise. The Grammy Award winning duo has recorded hits like “Baby Girl, “All I Wanna Do” and “Stay.” Nettles also sang with Bon Jovi on the single “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” which went on to become a #1 hit on the country charts. Sugarland performs Friday, Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35, $45 and $60 and include State Fair admission.
The crowds may not be rockin’, but sure will be rollin’ when Jeff Dunham takes the stage. This Texas ventriloquist has been called “America’s favorite comedian” and it’s easy to understand why. His Comedy Central specials, millions of sold DVDs and YouTube hits make him one of the most-viewed entertainers of all time. Dunham and his “friends” Walter, Peanut, Melvin the Superhero Guy and others will appear Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30, $35 and $40 and include State Fair admission.
