So one of my absolute FAVE bands, Jack’s Mannequin, is coming to town!
So here’s the low down: Jack’s Mannequin was formed in 2004 in Orange County, California. The band consists of frontman Andrew McMahon, guitarist Bobby Anderson, bassist Jonathan Sullivan and drummer Jay McMillan.
Jack’s Mannequin’s work includes their ***debut studio album Everything in Tranist which was released in August of 2005. The album peaked at #37 on the Billboard 200. The next album The Glass Pasenger was released in 2008 and peaked at #8 on Billboard 8. Their first single “The Resolution” was charted at #27 on the Hot Modern Rocks Tracks chart.
***On an interesting sidenote: McMahon was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) a few months before the release of JM’s debut album. He made a full recovery and went on a solo tour last October to raise awareness for leukemia.
McMahon is planning to return to the studio with Jack’s Mannequin this year to record their third studio album which they hope to release this fall.
Until then…they’re city-hopping and Indianapolis happens to be just one of their destinations! Jack’s Mannequin will be in Indy on Wednesday, February 24 at the Murat Egyptian Room!
