‘Rock for Riley’ has Raised over $650K for Riley Children’s Hospital
Julian Casablancas, along with special guests Funeral Party, will perform live in Indianapolis on Friday, April 9 at 9:00 p.m. (doors at 8:00 p.m.) at the Vogue as part of the 2010 annual Rock for Riley VI concert.

Julian Casablancas is best known as the lead singer of The Strokes. Casablancas released a solo album in November 2009 that features “11th Dimension” the first single from Phrazes for the Young.
ABOUT ROCK FOR RILEY: Rock for Riley is a one-of-a-kind organization, created and managed entirely by passionate and involved Indiana University School of Medicine students. As the IU School of Medicine’s largest student-run philanthropic group, Rock for Riley gives students a unique opportunity to donate their time and energy to pediatric patients in a creative way. Rock for Riley’s primary mission is to organize an annual benefit concert in support of the Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana’s only comprehensive children’s hospital.
Each year, the Rock for Riley show features a nationally recognized band at an established Indianapolis music venue. Rock for Riley’s inaugural concert in 2004 featured Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe at the Vogue Theatre and raised nearly $25,000. Subsequent concerts have reflected Rock for Riley’s growing status within the community, featuring well-known musical acts from Grammy award-winning Wilco and Bonnaroo headliners My Morning Jacket to local rising stars Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s. Rock for Riley’s 2009 event featured The Avett Brothers and raised $85,339 bringing the grand total to an astonishing $650,383 in just five years! Rock for Riley continues to grow today, continually seeking out creative ways to make an impact in our community while allowing everyone involved to have fun—a truly meaningful combination. Rock for Riley has become an established force in the local music and philanthropic scene, and we look forward, with the help supporters like you, to continuing our success in the years to come.
