Indianapolis Concert: The Dave Matthews Band 2010 Summer Tour at Verizon Wireless Music Center

The Dave Matthews Band will launch its 2010 summer tour with a pair of Memorial Day Weekend shows in Connecticut and then stay out on the road through mid-September.

The three-month-plus outing kicks off May 28 and 29 in Hartford, CT, and will hit 40 cities in all before wrapping Sept. 15 in St. Paul, MN. Highlights include two July nights (7/16 and 7/17) at Citi Field in New York City, and an Aug. 23 appearance at Los Angeles’ historic Hollywood Bowl. Dave has a huge list of concerts for this summer tour 2010, you can find all the tour dates below.

DMB will be pleasing Indianapolis‘ crowds, like they do every year, at Verizon Wireless Music Center. This summer tour dates for Indianapolis are June 18th & 19th. Dave Matthews Band is a concert that never seems to disappoint, even if Dave doesn’t play all the songs you want to hear, just being at Verizon Wireless Music Center with all your friends and the huge crowds of people makes for an overall fun atmosphere. And I definitely love his latest album, “Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King“.

A variety of opening acts will join the tour at various stages, including Gov’t Mule, Ben Harper, Brett Dennen, The Felice Brothers and others. Public onsales for the concerts begin Feb. 26, but DMB fan club members will have first crack at tickets during a presale event beginning Friday (1/28). Check the band’s website for a complete list of support acts and additional ticketing information.

Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King,” which surfaced last summer, marks the band’s first studio set since the death of saxophonist LeRoi Moore last summer. Guitarist Tim Reynolds returned to the studio with the band for the record–his first recording with DMB since 1998′s “Before These Crowded Streets.”

The set debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 in early June, moving about 424,000 copies during its first week on store shelves to make the album the band’s fifth consecutive studio set to open with first week sales of at least 400,000 copies.

The album is up for two awards–Album of the Year and Best Rock Album–at this weekend’s 52nd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. The group will also perform on the show’s broadcast, which will air Jan. 31 on CBS.
