Norah Jones will be at the Murat Theatre this Saturday as see makes a stop here in Indy touring in support of here most recent album, “The Fall”. Her unique brand of music and awe inspiring talent should provide concertgoers with a very enjoyable evening. Jones literally burst onto the music scene in 2002 with her debut album, “Come Away with Me”. The album received five grammy awards, including album of the year. She also won song of the year and record of the year for her debut single, “Don’t Know Why”. That song still is her highest charting single in the US, and still probably her finest single.
Jones’ career has been a bit understated in recent music history. Everyone of her albums has peaked in the top three on the charts which is impressive for any artist. With “Come Away with Me”, “Feels Like Home”, “Not Too Late” all reaching the top spot and “The Fall” peaking at number three, it will be quite a pleasure to see such an accomplished musician in concert. She offers something for everyone. You could classify her music in number of different genres. She plays pop, jazz, soft rock, blues, soul, folk, you name it she plays it. This really is a testament to her immense musical talent.
I’ll be covering the show on Saturday and will be anticipating a very relaxing, intimate show. It seems as though no matter how overlooked her recent career has been, everything Norah Jones touches turns to gold. Her wide array of instruments and arrangements showcase her all her talents and range as an accomplished musician. She may not produce the hottest singles, but her career has been very successful and everything she has done has been done very well. You can check out my review for the show around this time next week.
