Now, I won’t even lie about it. At first glance, I thought “Bryan who?” Upon quick and accurate research (thank you wikipedia) I realized I did, in fact, know exactly who Bryan Adams was.
Born in Canada, the singer-songwriter also has accolades as a social activist and photographer. His work has been published in Vogue, Harper’s Bazar and Vanity Fair, and he has worked with Mick Jagger, Rod Steward, Celine Dion, Billy Idol, Lenny Kravitz and others. His photographic work has also been displayed in over 20 exhibitions around the world. His many talents include proficiency in playing the guitar, bass guitar, piano, the keyboard and harmonica…not to mention he has an extremely sexy voice.
Yeah, I said it.
He has won 18 Juno Awards, had 56 nominations-including wins for Best male Artist in 2000 and Male Vocalist of the Year in ’97, as well as every year from ’83 to ’87. He has won Juno Awards for producing and composing, as well as one for Songwriter of the Year. He has also had 15 Grammy Award nominations including a win for Best Song Written for A Motion Picture for “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” in ’92. I could go on and on with his accomplishments…but I don’t have the time.
[One interesting piece of information from his incredibly noteworthy history: At the age of 18, he signed on with A&M Records in Canada for a grand total of $1. ] In ’85, Adams released “Heaven” which reached Billboard’s Top 100 followed by the release of one of his most popular songs of all time [#16 according to Billboard's All Time Top 100] in ’91: “(Everything I Do) I Do it For You”.
Bryan Adams will be performing at the Murat Theater Egyptian Room on Wednesday, May 5 at 8 pm.
