Our good friends at MOKB are jumping on the lecture circuit bandwagon.

Don’t worry, this is a different kind of lecture.  So trade in the pencils, notebooks, stuffy rooms and the guy that snores in front of you for drinks, friends, artists and great music.  Now put those elements in the most famous nightclub in Broad Ripple and you’ll get Pecha Kucha 2010 from The Vogue this Friday (8/27).

What’s Pecha Kucha?  Well for those who don’t know what it is (or even how to pronounce it), it goes a little something like this:

Pecha Kucha (pronounced PEH-cha KUH-cha) was derived from a Japanese term meaning “chit-chat.”  In a nutshell, it was originally devised as an event for designers and other like-minded artists to network and show off their work.  The format is simple: each presenter has 20 slides to get their point across, and to keep things moving, each slide can only be shown for 20 seconds (with each presentation clocking in at roughly six minutes and 40 seconds.

But the fun doesn’t end when the final slide does.

As soon as the presentations end, you’ll be treated to a one-off reunion show by local guitar trio The Pieces.  It’s been years since we’ve seen these guys in action so you’re in for a treat.  Trust me, this is a lecture you won’t want to miss.  For more, read on.
