Indy Pride is right around the corner, June 13th and along with all that a festival has to offer there will be music and headlining this year is Kat DeLuna. The 21-year-old performer is reemerging from her hiatus and touring clubs and festivals promoting her debut album 9 Lives.
This album is a techno, dance and rock infused pop album that is giving DeLuna a new perspective on her career. This album in home to her hit Whine Up as well as other feel-good hits that give her the opportunity to showcase her vocal range and her new, grown up look. DeLuna also adds her New Jersey and Dominican roots to the album by adding Spanish and Carribean lyrics and beats to the play-list.
She has been called a trendsetter with a die-hard attitude about music and her career and after a two-year hiatus she is hitting the club scene harder than before. She has grown up and that shows with her recent performances. But before she was no stranger to the Latin music scene as she did perform with such superstars as Marc Anthony and queen Millie Quezada. However, then she was fresh out of high school. Now she shares more than her vocal range she shares pop-dance hits.
Born Kathleen Emperatriz, she moved to New Jersey when she was six and since has had a passion for all music. Now we can watch her perform at Indy Pride, a yearly GLBT festival, that will showcase DeLuna and other muscial performances.
