Less than three weeks after winning the title of American Idol, Kris Allen has signed a record deal with  Jive Records. 

“As exciting as the last few months have been, I’m really looking forward to what is next,” Allen said in a press release today. “Everyone’s been asking me what it’s going to sound like. It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show — definitely in the pop/rock genre. I can’t wait to get started!”

Allen’s debut album is scheduled to be released in late fall after the Idol tour wraps in September. His current single and victory song, “No Boundaries,” is No. 23 on Billboards hot 100 singles.
