Best Musical Gifts To Give For The Holidays.

was thinking, I know that when I purchase gifts for my family I always relate them to music somehow. It is just so easy to please everyone when music is involved. For example, I bought my little brother a Johnny Cash album, collector’s edition, mint condition original 1968 version of all his gospel songs. And I bought my dad an encyclopedia of rock and roll, which will go perfect with the encyclopedia of heavy metal I got him last year. Little things like that are all around us and are easily accessible. I decided to add a shopping guide (solely based on my opinion) that will give some good ideas to those who still haven’t bought Christmas gifts yet (you know who you are).

1. DJ Hero, or any Hero game, they are awesome! I recently saw DJ Hero on Walmart.com for $68!

2. Musical PJ’s, I am a Walmart addict, but they have AC/DC, Pink Floyd and the like there as well as at Target and they are pretty cheap.

3. Musical related books, just like the Encyclopedia of Rock-and-Roll there are a ton at Half-Price Books, biographies, autobiographies, history books, how-to books etc. all related to music in some fashion and they are no more than $20.

4. Concert tickets! HELLO!

5. Guitar or an instrument lesson, there are independent musicians all around who are willing to provide coaching for a minimal cost.

6. Karaoke machine and CD’s! (Done and done).

7. IPod, or an MP3 player, with music already downloaded onto it.

8. An electronic mixer for a computer, in order to mix songs and make CD’s.They have online versions that might be worth it, you pay for it, then use it, and your work can be saved to their network or your computer.

9. CD’s or albums, you may think they are old school but actually good gifts, and there are second hand stores all over that will cut you really good deals. Do not omit thrift stores when shopping for albums either, I have some of my best Journey and Foreigner albums from there and they were only 50 cents!

10. Graphic T’s or other apparel, available at most clothing places. But what is better than a Bob Marley t-shirt or a Blondie wallet?

11. Skull Candy headsets, they are awesome, and yes they run a little expensive but worth it (of course until your dog gets a hold of them and then they are NOTHING, I’m not bitter). They have all different styles, colors. sizes etc. I have a pair of little pink earbuds that fit into your ear and they have a cute little skull on them.

12. SingStar, this game is the best, I have it for PlayStation 2 but it is available for Wii and other systems and XBox has a version called Lips!

13. If you want to go cheap but meaningful, take pictures that you have from past concerts and arrange them in order, put them into a photo album and there you go! Gift away!

14. A Rolling Stone subscription or a music magazine subscription, it lasts the whole year and with the fall of print publications they are always running a deal!

15. Posters! They are affordable and most people enjoy having them.
