To be completely honest, I had never heard of Sons of Alchemy before writing this article. As I visited their MySpace, I completely wrote them off as another Indy hardcore band.

However, I was wrong.

The newly released CD is metal all the way through, mixed with some punk rock drive ( “So The Sky Does Bleed”),  and a splash of rock balled (“The Prince of Cats”).  Though some of the tracks sound slightly under-produced, the guitars are melodic, the singing is clean, and the raw emotion bursts through almost every track.  It reminded me of a heavier version of my old favorite local band (7DFC where are you!?)

Sins of Alchemy, Rowco, and Neverfound will be performing tomorrow at the Melody Inn at 8PM. Look forward to new songs by S.o.A., as thier new CD “Onward to Madness” will surely be the highlight of the night.
