It’s sad but true, Danny is gone. While I’m sad, he did suck compared to Kris and Adam. I think part of the issue is that he was completely sabotaged by Paula’s song choice. What the hell was that? Then his choice of Joe Cocker was weak at best. Say what you want, but I’m over his personal tragedy. He’s way better when he’s not serenading his dead wife. My prediction is that Danny is going to make a killer Christian Rock album that lights up the adult contemporary radio stations along with a few crossover pop hits.
As for Kris, I can’t believe he’s still in it. He made the top two purely based on the popularity of the songs he sang: (Apologize, One Republic – chosen by Randy and Paula – and Kanye’s Heartless – his own choice). And did I mention his cute, extremely marketable face? (Danny doesn’t have that same marketable look). I still don’t think he’s going to win – and if he does, it’s only because he’s getting the anti-Adam Lambert vote – not a pro-Kris vote).
And then there’s Adam. His creep factor decreased a little when he was talking to the kids at the theater where he started out. And his performances were both awesome on Tuesday – he sang U2′s phenomenal hit One with the band’s blessing (and by Simon’s choice). I loved it – I rewound the DVR a couple times because I wanted to hear more. But Aerosmith’s Crying was just okay for me dog. Either way, every judge basically declared him even before America had a chance to vote. Simon practically begged the viewers at home to vote for Adam. While I’m in agreement it’s a bit of a travesty if Adam doesn’t win (since he’s heads above the competition with respect to his talent level), I’m not confident. So many people think he’s creepy. You either love him or you hate him. His black nail polish, his dark dyed hair, his clothing choices and accessories really rub a whole lot of people the wrong way. Oh, and the scream. Is it really necessary to incorporate that scream into every single song? Adam, we know you can hit the high note – stop it with the scream/creepy tongue motion. We’ve heard enough. It might cost you the title. It shouldn’t. But it might. I guess we’ll see next week…
I definitely have a pro-Kris vote because I think he’s better and will be a more marketable artist. Can’t ever see myself buying an Adam LAME-bert cd….his performances are like he’s constantly auditioning for a revival of the Mark Wahlberg movie Rockstar.
You can be a Kris hater all you want to, but it’s going to come down to the performance next week. Kris has had the best performances this season. Adam can squeal his way back to Broadway. I’m not going to buy either one of these guys albums. However, it is a lot more likely that I would buy Kris’ version of “Heartless” or “Falling Slowly” on iTunes. Also, I’m a bigtime Pro Kris voter and not an Anti Adam.
