Those who have been anxiously waiting for Dr. Dre’s long-awaited upcoming album will finally get their first listen next week — during a Dr. Pepper commercial. The commercial, set to begin airing on Monday, will feature Dr. Dre playing the first officially released beats from “Detox,” his new, much-delayed album. Dr. Dre hasn’t released an album since 1999, and his latest has been expected for years now. Listeners can look forward to guest spots from Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Nas, Eminem, and 50 Cent when the album is released sometime in late 2009.

Until then, however, you’ll just have to enjoy the commercials…because nothing says “gangsta rap” quite like Dr. Pepper.
