Hope for Haiti Now Telethon

Tomorrow night at 8, MTV will host “Hope for Haiti Now,” a telethon featuring some of music’s biggest stars, in an attempt to raise funds for disaster relief in Haiti after last week’s devastating earthquake.

The telethon will be shown on all major networks as well as MTV and many other channels, so you should have no trouble finding it — it will be the most widely distributed telethon in history. The broadcast will feature performances in Los Angeles, New York, and London, and will also provide reports from CNN’s Anderson Cooper, who is currently in Haiti.

In Los Angeles, George Clooney will serve as the host of the show. L.A. performers will include Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow.

Wyclef Jean will host the New York portion of the show, which will feature performances by Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, and Sting.

In London, U2′s Bono and The Edge are expected to perform a new song alongside Jay-Z and Rihanna. Beyonce will perform, as well.

Donations will be accepted throughout the telethon, and all performances will be available for purchase on iTunes after the show. All proceeds will benefit a number of charities involved with the event.
