Today, iTunes reached a milestone when it sold its 10 billionth song. That’s right — in just over nine years, its customers have downloaded over 10 BILLION songs. That number doesn’t even include movies, TV shows, and podcasts, which Apple has added to its store in recent years. I know there are people out there who aren’t big fans of iTunes (I don’t know any, but apparently they do exist), but regardless of how you feel about it, this is quite an impressive feat.
Whoever downloaded the 10 billionth song received quite a prize: a $10,000 iTunes giftcard. Now, I spend a pretty good chunk of my limited income on music, but I’m not sure I’d know what to do myself if I had that kind of money to work with. What about you? How long do you think it would take to go through $10,000 on iTunes?
