Jenny is going to have to find a new block … for her record that is. Lopez announced that she has split from Sony/Epic, her record label of more than a decade.
Lopez released her debut album On The 6 in 1999 that went on to sell more than three million records. She went on to release several other records that had disappointing record sales. Her latest album, Love? was to be released by Sony/Epic this spring but instead they released her from her contract.
“At this point, I have fulfilled all my contractual obligations to Sony/Epic (and) we have come to an amicable decision,” Lopez said in a released statement Tuesday.
Lopez said that her album, with first single “Louboutins,” has a home and will be released this summer. If her album is anything like her single, than we can all speculate as to why her label kicked her to the curb.
