I reported earlier this week that Aerosmith frontman, Steven Tyler, was leaving the band after 40 years to pursue solo ventures, but that is no longer the case. After Joe Perry made statements to the press and on his Twitter page that the band was actively seeking a new lead singer to replace Tyler after he distanced himself from the band following a fall from the stage in August, Tyler took it upon himself to set the record straight.
The legendary frontman made a surprise appearance at Joe Perry’s concert in New York last night and told the audience the good news.
“I just want New York to know, I am not leaving Aerosmith,” Tyler said. “Joe Perry, you are a man of many colors. But I, motherfucker, am the rainbow!”
Apparently, this is just a case of bad communication–a very bad case. But this is good news for fans like me who would find it an almost impossible task to replace Steven Tyler. Let’s face it, the man is Aerosmith. What a great birthday present for me. I guess birthday wishes do come true.
