My favorite martian Lil Wayne will be sentenced this afternoon for gun possession charges. His sentence is part of a plea bargain that reduced jail time from 15 years to just one. With good behavior, Wayne may only serve about eight months.
Wayne is expected to begin serving his sentence immediately after his sentencing hearing. He will serve his time in the New York City jail system, the same that fellow rappers Foxy Brown and Remy Ma served time. Wayne, who is featured in the current issue of Rolling Stone, commented on his upcoming jail stay.
“This is Lil Wayne going to jail. Nobody can tell me what that’s like,” Wayne said. ”I just say I’m looking forward to it.”
Wayne released his long-awaited album Rebirth just last week. It is said that he’s been working feverently on Tha Carter IV, which is expected to be released shortly after his jail release the end of 2010.
