Stars back out of Jackson tribute; now postponed

Well … that didn’t take long. The Jackson tribute concert that was to take place at the end of September has been pushed back to June 2010. The location of Vienna was also changed to London, the destination of Jackson’s would-be comeback.

The first announcement of performers was announced by Jermaine Jackson on Tuesday, but in a “just kidding” moment, three of the biggest names on the list dropped out. Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige and Natalie Cole bailed leaving an obvious scramble for organizers.

“Numerous stars were just not able to change their schedules to make a live appearance at the Vienna event possible,” said Jackson. ”However, due to the short time frame it was not possible for many of them to change their schedule…therefore we decided, after careful consideration, to change the date of the tribute concert to June 2010—just a few weeks before the first anniversary of his untimely death. Now we have eight months to put this monumental show together and not just eight weeks.”

So Chris Brown is busy??? He couldn’t take a day off famewhoring his Act of Contrition tour to honor one of his so-called greatest influences? He has eight months to get back in the good graces of the public. We’ll see if his invitation is extended.
