Teneia Sanders and Raining Jane on August 6 @ The Irving
One of the benefits to my job is the people I meet.  I am not talking about the bands this time; this is about the random fans I meet.  Many I times talk my way into an empty seat at a table with strangers to review and end up striking up a conversation.  We talk music at first of course but sometimes I get lucky...
Kevin Crafton, Luke Knight, Wolves Where, Collecting Clouds, and Apex Predator on July 31 @ The Vollrath
Kevin Crafton is a folk rock artist from Indianapolis.  His band, The High Tide, was on that night, Ryan Puett – guitar, Andrew Wahnsiedler – bass, and Conner Baine – drummer.  Before he played, Kevin said he missed the old rock and roll and wanted to bring it back.  He certainly does.  Back to...

As reported by the Indianapolis Star, a gust of wind knocked down the rigging on the main stage at the Indiana State Fair Saturday night, causing the stage to collapse, killing three and injuring 24 others. It Was Enchanting To See You Taylor Swift.
I am not a closet Taylor Swift fan, I am a full blown, proud, Taylor Swift fan. I always thought it was because of her innocence and ability to write songs that are extraordinarily catchy. Yet, her concert pointed out another side of this pop/country sensation that I had not recognized in detail before; Her love for...
Remedy for the Fallen, Midwest State of Mind, Syn Aestesia, Alter Ego, and Deadman’s Grill @ The Irving
Sometimes I plan, mark it down on my coffee stained battered calendar, confirm on Facebook and still miss important details.  Like the concert has been moved up an hour.  Eeeeek!  I missed the first two bands. I have not been to The Irving for this kind of show before.  Usually it is an Americana or folk music. ...
Concert Review: Dudefest After-Party @ The Vollrath
The Vollrath held the after-party for the Dudefest Friday and Saturday.  Both nights a standing room only crowd continued their heavy metal love fest.  This music has a following, you can talk to their fans and they can rattle off a history of their favorite local bands. Now I do not go out of my way to hear this...
The Songwriter’s Circle Review July 29
Last night at The Irving Theater, I attended my first Songwriter’s Circle.  The four talented songwriters gathered up by Robin Coleman made it a priority on my future calendar.  Jessi Curtis, Cari Ray, Tim Wilsbach, and Nick Ivanovich brought their A game.  There was a nice easy flow of song set ups, fellow artist...
Bright Eyes at the Murat
When I first started this internship, this is the one concert I begged to go to.  I know I am a bit out of the age demographics to be a Conor junkie but I have been for years.  It could be the clever lyrics he weaves, his voice he manipulates for further conveyance, or I will admit he is pretty damn cute for a youngster. ...
