I went to see Dave Barnes at the Bluebird in Bloomington last weekend, and it was a great show. It was my third time seeing him perform live, so there were no major surprises, but it was still a good time. As always, he played an outstanding set and made plenty of jokes. This Saturday, June 11, is Carmel’s 3rd annual Rock the District. Held in the city’s Arts & Design District, the day is filled with live music on three different stages. The event lasts from noon to 9, and admission is free. There is also plenty of shopping to do, and there will be tons of restaurants selling food. Last night, 2/19/09, Dave Barnes played at the Music Mill, Avenged Sevenfold put on a show at the Murat Egyptian Room, and Clutch performed at the Vogue. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go to any of them. I was pretty bummed I had to miss out on Dave Barnes — he’s one of my favorites. Did anyone go see him, or any of the other two?
