Last night, the State Fair went hip-hop. A stage that typically sees the biggest names in country music was instead taken over by one of hip-hop’s most rising stars: Drake. After support from Tino, Jumpsmokers, New Boyz, and Iyaz, Drake finally took the stage around 10:00 P.M. and opened strong with “Forever,” a collaborative single Drake did earlier this year with Lil Wayne, Eminem, and Kanye... 

Drake is “The New Face of Hip-Hop” according to the New York Times, which also states that “emotions are what fuel (him).”  Now, the up-and-coming rapper brings his act to the Indiana State Fair’s Hoosier Lottery Grandstand on Aug. 13 at 7:30 p.m. Drake released his highly anticipated debut album “Thank Me Later” Friday, and is now headlining a tour for the first time.  The L.A. On Friday, Aug. 28, hip-hop megastars Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy, Drake, and Jeremih will all perform at Verion Wireless Music Center in Noblesville. Despite the fact that I can’t stand him, many people think Lil Wayne is arguably the best rapper around, and the rest of the group all have at least one major hit to their name. I’m sure it will be an awesome end-of-the-summer party, so...

Maybe it’s because it doesn’t feel like summer, or maybe it’s because everyone is sick of me running around singing “I wanna take a ride on your disco stick…”  (I’ve also gotten quite good at the parts where Lady GaGa self edits – i.e. “I can see you staring there from across the block with a smile on your face and your hand on your HUH!”...
