It was the boys’ turn last night on American Idol and for the most part, it wasn’t pretty. I had high expectations for this crew of men and most of them let me down. There were some surprises, though. Simon wore a button down and Ellen was more critical of the performances ( it was good to see that she doesn’t love just anybody). But let’s get down to business. A well known and respected American R&B singer and soul-songwriter had something to say about a certain American Idol judge. Uncertain on which one she is speaking about it might be obvious to those that have watched the show for 9 seasons. After a crazy rollercoaster of Kara DioGuardi joining the cast and Paula Abdul leaving American Idol hired a new judge. Along with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson... 

By now you’ve all heard the news…Marissa brought it to you first thing this morning…Paula has been booted from the American Idol judges panel.  Okay, okay, so maybe “booted” isn’t the correct word, but it sort of feels that way, doesn’t it?  I’m depressed.  Yeah, she definitely brought the crazy…but at least it made the show interesting.  No... 

American Idol fans woke up to sad news this morning as Paula Abdul announced that she will not be returning to the show that she helped turn into a cultural success seven years ago.  “With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #IDOL. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all…being a part of a show that I helped from day1 become an international phenomenon,”... 

Seacrest, in. Randy, in. Simon, maybe in. Kara, who cares. But Paula Abdul’s return to American Idol as “the nice judge” is looking pretty grim.  Abdul is having contract disputes and claims that she will not be back if she doesn’t get the deal she wants. Maybe she’s bargaining for a Seacrest-like, record-breaking deal of $15 million a season.  “Very sadly, it... 

The votes have been cast, and the winner has been determined…now we just have to sit through more than 2 full hour hours of Idol before the newest American Idol is crowned.  For my money, last night was a toss up.  So I’m doing what the judges said and v0ting based on the entire season.  That said, I’m declaring Adam Lambert the American Idol.  But let’s talk about last... 

It all comes down to tonight.  Three songs, then America votes.  It’s hard to even compare these two guys – I mean there styles could not be more different from one another.  And truth be told, I doubt I’ll ever buy either album…but as I’ve said all season, I heart Adam Lambert.  I just wish he could lay off the screaming for one night to secure a victory.  I can’t... 

Although Paula Abdul’s contract with American Idol is coming to an end, viewers will hopefully still see Paula in her judge’s seat next season. There have been rumors floating around all season that Abdul and new judge Kara DioGuardi don’t get along and is acting as a transition to ease her off the show.
