Same building, different name).

Concert Review: Norah Jones Shines at the Murat
Norah Jones’ talent has never been in question, and she proved why with an outstanding performance at the Murat Theatre on Saturday night. The audience was so diverse and her performance was so unique and eclectic, that even the pickiest ears were pleased with the sounds delivered.
Much of the concert was devoted to her most recent album “The Fall”, but she threw in a lot of different...

The Avett Brothers: Sold Out but Selling Out?
Before you get all huffy on me, calm down…do not take the title as literal as it sounds. I love the Avett Brothers and will most definitely be attending their show on Sunday so just chill for a second and give this read a chance. It caught your attention though right? Like many others out there I, too, am greatly looking forward to the Avett Brothers concert this Sunday, the 28th at the Murat...
Rob Zombie Rocks the Murat by guest author Josh Williams
I have had the good fortune in my life to see some of the greatest front men in the world perform. Last night was no exception as Rob Zombie was simply phenomenal. I arrived at the Murat about 8:00 PM. I was able to catch one of the opening acts, Nekromantix, and they weren’t bad. They had a very unique ska/metal sound and good stage presence. The bassist/vocalist was able to keep rhythm while...

Dark Star Orchestra recreates full set lists from one of the greatest bands to ever hit the stage. Their stage shows is often compared to that of a Broadway spectacle. With a sound that is practically just like that of the original...

This Is My Confession
After seven years of piano lessons, I can’t play, although I’m a sucker for a song or musical performance that features the piano. I am a passable singer, and while I know I wouldn’t make it past the Idol judges, I think I’m really good at karaoke.
To give you an idea of my musical range, the last show I saw in Indy was Gym Class Heroes at the Murat. They rocked, and in my opinion, they...

What do you get when you incorporate a hip radio station, Straight No
Chaser, John McLaughlin, and Plain White T’s? A rockin good time!
Since we’ve covered this event a few times already, we are going to
keep this short and sweet. Let me just say when you first walk in to
the Murat Egyptian Room you may think you are back at your high school
prom. There were tables on the sides...
